Nice product. Fully compatible with my iPhone 4 and 3GS on iOS 5.01. No problems whatsoever. Screen brightness is right. Sound quality is great and the controls are easy to use.

This was a gift, and the recipient's main disappointments were: 1. the FM tuner's inability to pick up fringe NPR stations that she listens to regularly with her Sangean portable radio (I supect that the Sony may have a stereo tuner, which would automatically make it less sensitive); 2. the lack of pre-sets, or at least of what falls within her understanding of the meaning of "pre-set." Sony claims 20 of them, but apparently those are 20 "stopping points" that you can select on the scan button. For those two reasons, she disqualified the radio and asked me to return it.
Otherwise, I suspect the radio may represent a value since the cost is not much more than a good docking station that charges the iPhone and nothing more. Also, for users who might be less interested in the FM tuner than in the radio's capability of playing programs and apps on an iPhone, this Sony may be just the ticket, especially since its recipient had no complaints about the audio quality. (Aren't there several good all-inclusive Public Radio apps that can be downloaded to an iPhone?).

I'm using this with a 2nd gen iPod touch. They include a few different dock connectors, but those seem to be designed for iPhone. My iPod came with its own custom dock connector, but it's white and looks silly on the black radio. However the iPhone 3Gs dock connector works just fine. I don't care about the AM radio function (some reviewers rated low because of that, but it's clear in the product description that this is FM only). I bought this so I could wake up to my iPod, and it works brilliantly for that. It's nice and small, and looks very well built. The controls are super easy to understand, and the included manual explains very well how to set the alarm and stuff. I love the adjustable backlight and the fact that you can decide how much snooze by pressing it multiple times (1 time is ten minutes, 2 times is 20 minutes, etc). I kind of wish that went in 5 minute increments, though. The only issue I might have is that it might be easy to accidentally shut the alarm off. I have only had it for a few days and haven't had an issue, but I can see how that might be a problem.
Still, 5 stars. Wonderfully made product and I would definitely recommend it.
